Sun, Jan 28 2024 - Sweetwater Creek... W-R-Y-O = 11 miles (View Original Event Details)
|
Fourteen eager hikers arrived early to meet in a nearly empty parking lot at Sweetwater this morning. After following the White trail, we bounded up the Brown trail and circled around to Sweetwater Creek again. We discovered (as expected) that part of the trail was under water from the recent rains. We skirted the water along a (kind of) side trail. After that it was smooth sailing. We encounteered some gusty winds on the Orange trail loop, but otherwise it was very pleasant temps for hiking. We covered 11 or 12 miles, depending on the app you're looking at. Elevation was either 1100, 1700 or 1800 feet - again, depends on the app. The group stayed nicely together throughout. Welcome to Jeff, Tonya and Tori - all newish members. And nice to hike with Nooshin, Getachew, Lucy for the first time. (And of course always lovely to hike with the rest of the gang.) Overall, a wonderful winter's day hike!
