The weather was spectacular for our hike today - - sunny, cloudless skies, cool temperatures, and no chilly breezes. The trails had dried out nicely from the past week's rains.

We had two brand new AOC members on today's hike! Katie and Mary. Welcome to the AOC, ladies. You did great on your first event.

After the initial obligatory picture-taking (at the Magic Tree, the dam, the Covered Bridge, and the river at the bottom of the stairs), Russ picked up the pace and kept us moving to the  Oxbo Bridge, where he put me (Joyce) up front to lead the second half of the hike. We got back to the Covered Bridge just two minutes before noon, and clocked in about 5.5 miles. A great hike! ~. Joyce
