It was good to be back with my Thursday group after a week away, while Susan Ferguson led the hike. (Reports are that she did a great job!). We took a very unique route, visiting the old homestead, passing around the lagoon, and taking a trail (?) from the entrance of the park to the apartments. We stopped for several water breaks and enjoyed continuous conversation throughout the hike.

Mike R. was on just his second Thursday morning hike with the group, but he was easily first up the warmup hill today. (He gave credit to Laurie's Tuesday morning Kennesaw hikes for getting him in shape for fast hiking.) He made it look effortless! We also welcomed Debra to our Thursday morning hike. It was just her second AOC event.

We saw a pair of bucks in the woods, a couple of geese at the lagoon, and two groups of Chattapoochee dogs during our hike. I had hoped to see David V.'s hikers on the trail, but they took a route that never crossed ours.
