Mon, Mar 4 2024 - Up and Over Kennesaw Mountain than Around the Base from Burnt Hickory (View Original Event Details)
|
The morning was cloudy with lots of fog, with the temperature in the low 60’s and ending with temperature in the mid 60’s. The granite outcrops were quite slick along with the wet leaves and numerous muddy spots. With all that said we had a good hike with everyone staying on their feet. We stopped to look at the catus on Pigeon, to talk about the canons on Little Kennesaw and Kennesaw Mountains, the grape and peach orchard terraces on Kennesaw Mountain, and Camp Brumby.
The hike proceeded from the Burnt Hickory parking lot up Pigeon Hill to Little Kennesaw then to Kennesaw Mountain and the Visitor Center. After a quick break, we proceeded back via Brumby Trail.
Thanks to Harold and Jim for joining us on their sixth event.
