Wed, Oct 16 2024 - Gibbs Gardens Wildflower Waterlily Colorfest (View Original Event Details)
|
The weather was cold as we started with some wind making it chilly. We walked the perimeter of the Garden in a counterclockwise direction. We left the Welcome Center and headed to the Manor House; the pool has been filled in and is now a patio. We then went to the Inspiration Gardens, there was a sign says to the Japanese Garden, not really the trail was still closed. We proceeded to Fern Dell, with lots of ferns. Our next stop was the Wildflower Meadow, with some wildflowers blowing, overall last year was better. There were still a few roses blowing in the Rose Garden. There is a new fence with climbing roses. It should be nice next year. This finished the perimeter. We now headed though the center of the Garden, first looking at the Waterlily Garden, there were a few blooming, then to the Grandchildren’s Sculpture Garden and the Japanese Garden and returned to the entrance once again enjoying the Waterlily Garden as we left.
Thanks to Mary for joining us on her first hike.
