We met by the picnic tables near the Visitor Center where we did introductions. We did the safety brief and James from the park’s Interpretive Department welcomed everyone. We walked about a mile down the Camp Brumby Trail to the worksite where the tools were waiting. We were assigned to group 1 and proceeded to the first item on the workplan where we removed debris from the drainage ditches and debermed around Camp Brumby Circle. After accomplishing this proceeded to the area where the park recycled old fencing. Depending on where we were taking it to, we loaded it into buckets, a wheel barrel, or one of two John Deere Gator UTVs so that it could be placed on low wet areas on the trail.
