The rain had stopped, and it was sunny for most of the hike. We did introductions in the overflow parking lot, stopped at the restrooms at the Visitor Center and walked to the picnic area where we started the Environmental Trail hiking it in a clockwise direction, we then turned left on the 24 Gun Trail. We were able to go about a third of the way when we found the trail was closed due to a tree falling and damaging a bridge, see picture, Thursday afternoon. The trail will be closed for 5 to 7 days while the bridge is repaired. We turned around until we came to the Environmental Trail, took the loop back around. We walked about Three quarters of a mile along the Camp Brumby trail to make up our distance and turned around. From there we returned to the overflow parking lot.
