What a morning! It couldn't have been a better celebration of our 10th year hiking every Thursday at Island Ford. Over the years, we've formed some deep friendships, so getting together today was like a huge family reunion. The Renegades invited some additional friends to join them, as our two groups did our separate hikes through the unit. We all gathered again in the parking lot for a great after-party. Many of us - - close to 15 - - then had lunch together at the North River Tavern.

We had a surprise winner up the warmup hill today! Evelyn, on only her 4th AOC hike, stormed up the warmup hill with Rosie right beside her until the last few yards. Evelyn made it up first! Way to go, newbie!

The weather today was great, and we pushed ourselves to get in 5.5 miles in a little under 2 hours. We earned out after-hike celebration!

Thanks to all of you who made today such a warm, friendly gathering. I appreciate the help setting up and cleaning up the table, (Dolores and Jan) Dan C., for bringing the table, all of those who brought items to share, and Lee and Dan C. for their photos which have been added to the album.
