It would have been hard to improve on the beautiful weather we enjoyed Thursday as we hiked to Rabun Bald via the Darnell Creek and Bartram trails. Cool temperatures, and a refreshing breeze helped us enjoy the rushing stream we hiked beside the first and last three miles. Clear skies opened up distant views once we left the Darnell Creek trail and joined the Bartram trail. Altogether we hiked 15.26 miles and climbed 3,118 feet over six hours. While we were tired and sore at the end, that was a small price to pay for a great hike!
