A great morning for a hike to celebrate Russ's big milestone. The rain that was predicted last night dissipated by 10 am, and what started as partly cloudy skies evolved into bright sunshine. Too bad there was so much moisture on the ground; it made for very humid conditions.

Lee B. was first up the warm-up hill today. (Sadly, Lee W. was not able to join us today.) After gathering at the top and smiling for some photos, we walked to the Visitor Center parking lot where the renegades were gathering for their hike. We stopped for a minute to talk and then headed on, but we again saw them as we hiked on the lollipop trail.

After the hike, we cooled down with some popsicles and spent a while socializing in the parking lot. The morning ended well! ~ Joyce
