The little shortcut around the Colonial Pipeline work was muddy, but at least it was no longer flooded, making it passable.

We completed numerous creek crossings. Two of the crossings within 100 feet of one another have steep banks. The downstream of the two has a drop-off bank with one rock protruding from the bank that provides a convenient step. Unfortunately, after years of use, the step gave way while we crossed. Goodbye, nice step. We will miss you.

Two of us saw one deer at the dam turn around. We turned on the speed for the last long climb so nobody finished without thinking the hike was too easy. :-)
