Another August day with about two weeks of no rain. Except for the walk from the overflow parking lot to the Visitor Center the trees provided shade. We hiked from the overflow parking lot to the restrooms at the Visitor Center when to the Environmental Trail. Hiking it in a clockwise direction, we turned left on the 24 Gun Trail, and followed the 24 Gun Trail to Gilbert Road. We turned around until we came back to the Environmental Trail. We took the remaining portion that we had not hiked to the picnic area and returned to the overflow parking lot. We looked at all 5 bridges on the 24 Gun Trail. On bridges 4 and 5 I told the group how the AOC helped to replace these 2 bridges.
