Autumn is great at Dockery Lake! We enjoyed crisp morning weather as we departed under blue skies to hike from the lake to Woody Gap. Descending into the valley below the lake, we trekked along Pigeon Roost Creek before ascending the trail to intersect with the AT. We encountered crowds at Preachers Rock, so we decided to lunch at one of the ridgeline campsites after hiking back up Big Cedar Mountain from Woody Gap. The leaves have just started to turn at higher altitudes.
