We arrived at the park, did a safety brief and the tools used to do trail maintenance at the tools shed in the maintenance area. From there we proceeded up the mountain stopping frequently to talk about various issues. After hiking about two thirds of the way up we turned around and went back down. After taking a break while the training room was set up, we proceeded to the classroom portion of the course. In the classroom we covered rules and regulations for park volunteers, the parks safety policy, the textbook part of trail maintenance, and how workdays are set up and run.
