We were very sorry that Drew had to turn over his hike to me this morning. He's always fun to hike with; but with the help of the group, we managed to chart a course through Jones Bridge that got us close to the distance Drew intended, and back to the parking lot in the time allotted.

We had the pleasure of meeting Laura P. on her very first AOC event. She was certainly fit for the hike, and she was an upbeat, personable addition to the group.

We saw lots of Joro spiders and even a big black Rat or King snake. Marina's sharp eyes spotted it in the brush.

It was a humid morning, but we caught an occasional cool breeze as we passed by the river. We were happy to get the hike in before the rains from Helene affect us later in the week.

We missed you, Drew!
