What a difference a day makes! The sun was shining this morning, and the trails were surprisingly dry. A little muddiness on the river trail, but it was still hikeable.

A point of excitement was a giant tree that just recently fell across the road a few feet past the pond. It was impossible to drive through, so cars were stuck at the Visitor Center, and our group couldn't get there to park. With the help of Sue and Mike, we contacted folks and diverted cars to the upper lot. With all the excitement, we were still able to start on time.

We went to the area where the tree fell during our hike, and the park service had already cleared the road! What efficiency.
