A windy, sunny, cool, beautiful day for our hike at Island Ford - - yet another amazing late November gift! We've had perfect hiking conditions this fall, with very few needs to cancel due to the weather.
Our hike stayed in the main section of Island Ford, foregoing the lollipop trail today. Instead, we diverted to the apartments for a very nice 5 minute rest-stop on the apartment deck. It was difficult to continue the hike after such a relaxing break!
The wind picked up as we hiked, so we were lucky not to have any branches or trees blow down on us. (The wind is supposed to pick up even more this afternoon, so tomorrow's hikes might face some trail obstacles.)
It was great to have Irina with us for her 3rd AOC event since Monday! I think hiking with our club is going to become a habit with her!
