Another perfect day for hiking, before the weekend rain and next week's snow! The trails at Island Ford have finally dried off from last week's snow and ice, so our footing was great. We omitted the lollipop trail, getting in almost 5.5 miles on the other trails throughout the park.

Today's race up the warmup hill was the most competitive yet, with Allan S. determined not to let Deema get 4 wins in a row. Both of them started a run early on, which usually means ending in a walk; however, Allan wouldn't allow it, and he finally pulled past Deema within feet of the top. Needless to say, he was rather out of energy for the rest of the hike!
