Write Up:
Eight hardy hikers braved the freezing temperatures and high winds to hike at East Palisades Thursday morning. Special welcome to Shirley Irek on her first hike and Veronica Kirk on her third hike. A beautiful and interesting variety of conditions made our hike seem longer than the little over 4 miles we traveled: a massive tree blowdown blocking the trail, the bamboo forest, streams, beautiful river views from above and below, and otters scrambling on the river bank (seen only by Gerrilyn) to name a few. We talked about how remarkable it is to have this beautiful park hidden away inside the perimeter. Special thanks to Mike C for the photo album.
