Fri, Mar 7 2025 - Friday Morning Hike Riverside Park past Don White Park plus a Small Loop in Vickery Creek (View Original Event Details)

I changed plans for our hike and started the Vickery Creek loop before doing the easier trek to Don White Park. We were surprised to see Susan F. and a large CRNRA volunteer crew doing trail work on several sections of the trail paralleling Grimes Bridge. Parts of that trail are badly eroded, so their work is greatly appreciated!
We hiked a little over 2 miles in Vickery Creek and then dropped some clothing at our cars before continuing on to Don White Park. We did a turn-around at Martin's Landing tennis courts and retraced our route back to Riverside Park. Much of the hike was on flat ground, so we got in 5.9 miles in 2 hours . . . a nice bit of exercise for this Friday morning!
We were happy to welcome J.D. into the club. Today was just his second hike with the AOC, and I'm sure he was happy to get away from all the questions I and our inquisitive group had for him. Hopefully, we'll see a lot of J.D. on our future local hikes. ~ Joyce
