Write Up:
We had a fun but way too short hike at East Pal...just wish we could have spent another hour or so out there but the sun was going down.  But we took a side trail that bisected the park and then to the overlook and down to the bamboo forest.  When we got to the mysterious stone circle just beyond the official borders of the park, we met the caretaker of this ancient relic (who was hanging out in his backyard.  He told us that we could hike down his driveway and and take another side trail back into the park.  That sounded interesting but a couple of our group had stayed behind at the river and we had to go back and collect them.  So Charlie bravely explored this new trail alone while we went back to get the rest of the group and one more back trail to the cars.   We will return to this beautiful park again sometime soon for a much longer hike.
