Write Up:
A fantastic hike at Kennesaw Mountain today!  The group split into two when climbing the mountain, with a fast group out front and a more photo-oriented group behind.  The five fast ones got to Burnt Hickory and then - - after waiting long past their patience - - headed back over the mountains.  The three photo-seekers had their fill of photos by the time we reached Burnt Hickory, so we continued the hike in earnest over the loops leading to Dallas Highway.  After recrossing Burnt Hickory,  we headed down the fire trail, but then took a creative (secret), strenuous trail up from the fire trail to get up to the trail leading back up Big Kennesaw.  We finished the hike at just under 10 miles, and were delighted with our day's achievement.
