Write Up:Thanks to AOC birding enthusiasts Bill & Darlene Lohmeyer for joining me and our friendly Audubon Society hosts at the Kennesaw Mountain Visitor Center yesterday. Despite some showers our world-class guide Giff Beaton helped us spot a colorful red summer tanager singing his heart out - plus several other nice birds including cedar waxwings, phoebes and rare migrant warblers before we decided to "call it a day" at about 8:30. Giff is offering the same nice field trip this Sat AM. It's expected to be partly sunny with only a passing light shower or two, so please join us! (See my newly posted AOC "participation event.") Like other excellent free field trips hosted by the AtlantaAudubon.org it'll be ON rain or shine!
