The weather was very "iffy," but our group took its chances and had a great hike at Gold Branch.  Yes, we got wet, but it made for extremely pleasant hiking; the forested trails kept the drizzle to a minimum, and there was no lightning or thunder.  We were treated to a view of two water birds who stood together across the water - - a blue heron and a white egret.  (I wish I had your 35X lens, Tony!)
