Write Up:We AOCers picked the perfect crisp blue-sky fall morning for this unforgettable outing. En route to the park we had a splendid view of the thin waning crescent moon between brilliant Venus and the rising sun. Arabia's friendly ranger-naturalist, Robby, did a fine job guiding us up over the mountain outcrops and around the lake via the park's new blue-blazed trail. Along the way, Iris, an expert Audubon birder, helped us observe and identify numerous species of birds including red-bellied woodpeckers, sharp-shinned hawks, bluebirds, towhees and many more. We took time also to enjoy and discuss the beautiful flowers, trees and mosses. -Charlie, 3PM Oct 13th
