When a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound!  It certainly does!  A tremendously loud THUD!  We had a huge tree fall not 100 feet from us as we hiked through Cochran Shoals, and give us all a respectful fright.  Other than that scare, our hike was a delight.  We discovered a new trail along the road (okay . . . Joyce took the lead and got us a bit lost for a short time), but everyone was polite and of good cheer and even tolerated the brambles we made our way through in order to find a legitimate trail back into the CNRA area. Lauren and Joyce wore their turkey hats in celebration of the upcoming day of thanks.
