Write Up:We had perfect blue-sky fall weather and leaf color today and a great time together on the hike. We all agree that Brigitte Fessele deserves the "AOC Navy Seal" award for her deep water valor! We were almost back to the cars via the trail on the north side of Peachtree Creek when Shasta, her 105-pound black labrador retriever fell into the creek. Since it was such a sheer embankment there and since Shasta had come loose from her leash, Brigitte in fine fashion shimmied down a big fallen tree into the head-deep water and handily rescued Shasta! The two of them even beat the rest of us back to the parking lot via the trail on far side of the creek, where Brigitte with her usual grace (despite being soaking wet) treated us all to delicious chocolate!
