Write Up:We took an historic walk through the ruins on both sides of the river in order to show the structures to Suzanne and Jack, who had never before seen them. Then, we picked up the pace, and covered trails throughout the Sope Creek area for another hour or so. The pace for the second half was fast, thanks to Michelle, who acted as rabbit for the group. We were treated to flocks of sandhill cranes passing overhead and some river's edge scrambling across the rocks (thanks to an inadvertent choice of trails by you-know-who). It was a great workout with lunch at Chaplin's as a reward for our efforts!
