The photos say a lot - - steep climbs, steep descents, challenging creek crossings - - and a beautiful day for hiking.  The water in the river was an amazingly clear azure blue in this location - - reminiscent of the reefs in Australia.  We couldn't believe the color.  Recent rains left the trails slippery in places, challenging us to stay on our feet and stay dry. Most of us did.  :-)  There was no whining as we made our way from boundary to boundary, hiking 6.8 miles before returning to our cars. What an exciting excursion it turned out to be for those of us who had never before hiked this unit of the CNRA.
