This was the last event of Lauren's Free Week at the CNRA units.  It was designtated a D2 event, but 8 of the 12 hikers voted to extend the hike past the D2 level and add another hour of hiking around the unit.  (This group definitely did a D3 difficulty hike, going over 5 miles in two hours.)  We were leg weary when we finished, but it felt great.  What a sociable group of folks with which to spend a Friday afternoon!  

If any of us felt that we had accomplished a lot hiking over 5 miles for this event at Island Ford, consider that Divya did 3 hikes today - - and rode her bike to get to Big Trees Preserve and then Island Ford! She's my hero!
