Sun, Mar 17 2013 - St. Pattie’s Day Hike, Potluck Picnic Dinner, Irish Sing-along & Comet Gaze! (View Original Event Details)

We 16 AOC "Irishmen & Irishwomen" (+ 4 great dogs!) had tons of fun together celebrating Mar 17 at Mason Mill Park. The 70-degree balmy weather was perfect for everything.
After kicking things off with a leisurely 4-mile hike to nearby Medlock Park, we regrouped in a nice picnic pavilion and pigged out on a sumptuous "potluck picnic." Just after dusk we wrapped it all up by singing some nostalgic old Irish songs including Danny Boy, When Irish Eyes are Smilin', and It's a Great Day for the Irish! I was proud of everyone letting our hair down with the hilarious arm & hand movements of the Irish Rovers' "Unicorn Song":
There were green alligators and long-neck geese,
some humpty-back camels some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats & elephants, but sure as you're born...
You're never gonna see no unicorn!
