Sun, Apr 21 2013 - "Carpe Diem" at Island Ford (View Original Event Details)
|
We seized the day at Island Ford and were rewarded with perfect weather, a splendid workout and warm companionship. For a while we divided by gender into subgroups - perhaps there was a bit too much chatter for the guys' taste? - but we regrouped at the picnic tables for a solid, unified trek to the river rocks. Perched on the shoals, we relished poetry and prose about friendship, slowing down, and a heartfelt tribute to the Boston community. A framed calligraphy poem by one hiker's sister was shared, as were words of wisdom from Nikita Khrushchev and Bob Dylan.
We departed in high spirits, ready to further "Carpe Diem!"
