Write Up:
Today was an ophiophilist's dream. (That's a snake lover - - I looked it up.) Thanks to the sharp eyes of Michael and Alan, we had three snake spottings and three snake handlings. Beautiful creatures, all harmless. Alan was good enough to endure smelly hands in order for me to get some photos. We also saw some turtles sunning on a log. Reptiles rule! Gold Branch was a bit muddy in places, but we stayed mainly on the high ground and had a great 2-hour hike.
