A large but cohesive group enjoyed a wonderful hike on the Smith Trail from Anna Ruby Falls to Helen.  Wild azaleas were in full bloom throughout the trail, adding a touch of additional beauty to the lush vegetation along the trail.  At one point, we heard the loud chirping of thousands of cicadas, misidentified by some of us as frogs.  What an awesome sound!  

Unfortunately, Lemmy's PT Cruiser convertible overheated just as he left the Mansell Park n' Ride, causing a shifting of cars and drivers.  He didn't let that dampen his spirits during the hike - - but hopefully the car will soon be well again. 

Most of the group stayed for German food after retrieving the cars at the parking lot.  What a perfect day for all of us!
