Life handed us lemons, but from them we made delicious lemonade.  The entrance to Cheatham Hill was blockaded due to construction - - with a policeman on duty to ensure that no one enter the area to park.  Some last minute communication (thank goodness for cell phones and the requirement that Trip Leaders carry phone numbers of participants with them) had us all gathering at Marietta High School where we then caravaned to the Burnt Hickory Battlefield parking lot.  It was definitely Plan B, but none of the group (save the TL) had ever been to this section of the Battlefield, so it was an enjoyable discovery for them.  With the East and West Trail loops, it's probably a tougher hike than the one originally planned . . . . but everyone enjoyed the scenery and the company.  We had a great time.  (We'll all be doing the Serenbe hike on Wednesday!  Come join us!)
