It was a fast hike!  The park closed at 8 pm, so we had to put on some speed to get through the 5.5 miles before closing.  We took a wrong path, extending our hike an extra mile . . .to 6.5 miles, but we still managed to finish in just over 2 hours.  Had we not gone that extra mile, we would have remained dry;  however, the skies let loose their fury in the last 20 minutes of the hike, drenching us to the bone.  But for all of us, it was fine.  We were wet from sweat anyway, and the rain was very refreshing.  Ziplock bags protected our phones and camera, so all was well.  We saw a beautiful doe by the trail, which was thrilling.  She smiled nicely for the camera.  :-)
