For some of us not off in Spain, Peru, or some other exotic locale, hiking to the top of Standing Indian still made for a good day. The Lower Ridge Trail was in better condition than expected, but the Kimsey Creek Trail has not seen the benign touch of a human hand for some time. Thunder rumbled overhead throughout the afternoon, but we escaped all rain. Afterwards, in Clayton for our beers and dinner, we encountered a merry street festival.
