The weatherman said it was fog, but to us it looked like clouds that blocked out the blazing sun for much of the day. At the lookout tower, however, the sun came out and lit up the view for us, and at the same time a wind sprang up. An enchanted spot.

The trail is becoming seriously overgrown, but we did clear away a number of fallen branches.

It was a good hike and we promised to return in the fall.
