Write Up:We thirteen had a blast together this afternoon on our 5-mile trek through Emory's lovely forested areas. We had an unexpected bonus at the end of the hike when Missy spotted a wild otter swimming in the swirling pool below the waterfall just upstream of Hahn Woods. We all got great views of the playful critter as it surfaced several times. Joyce must be my "otter good luck charm," because the only other time we've seen an otter on my hundreds of hikes was also when Joyce was along 2 winters ago - also here in Emory's "South Fork" of Peachtree Creek! Perhaps both of our "Emory otters" are one and the same?!
Despite a rainy morning we felt fortunate not to have a drop of rain during the hike and were delighted that we'd not let a wet forecast dissuade us from having an unforgettable outdoor experience together.
Many thanks to Joyce for sharing her wonderful Facebook photo album of the hike with us. Here's a convenient link to her many nice pictures: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152554497045260&type=1&l=4a113066aa
