Write Up:We twelve had a very nice time hiking about 6 miles together and exploring some of the lesser known scenic areas in this beautiful DeKalb County park. Our adventurous route included the summits of both of the highest granite outcrops in the park - "Bradley Mtn" and "Arabia Mtn" - also the new blue-blazed lakeside loop trail, many wooded trails and several short stretches of off-trail forest terrain.
Thanks to Joyce for sharing this Facebook link to the fine photos she took during our "trek." Amazingly she tells me that she actually edited out about half of her shots, leaving these 3 dozen or so - all very nice!

I was proud of everyone for following me successfully through several "challenges" including a few not-so-easy "bushwhacks" and ascending the 8-foot-high ladder-like wooden side railing of the boardwalk to access its long interior walkway. It was fun having new members George and Zuri with us on their first event with our fine Club! Hope to see them often in the future.
Luckily we didn't need our rain gear until the final few minutes of the outing, and even then it was just a drizzle. Much heavier rain is expected this evening and later tonight.
