Write Up:Well five of us made it out on a very blustery and cold day and were rewarded with an invigorating hike. We enjoyed the light snow on the way up the trail and made it to the historic "Indian Seats". The views were muted by the weather, but strong gusts blew the snow up and over the mountain in an impressive display.
We hiked back down the mountain and after a snack break, took a steeper trail back up. By this point, the snow had stopped falling and we enjoyed much different views than earlier. With breaks in the clouds and patches of blue sky....we could now see the Blue Ridge mountains in the distance, however faintly.
By the time we reached the trailhead again, the skies had cleared for the most part and the sun was shining....it felt like two hikes in one, in the space of a couple of hours.
