Mon, Mar 31 2014 - 3D in 1D @ Gold Branch - Part 2 (View Original Event Details)
|
Our second hike of the day was a bit more moderately paced than the first, as we hiked the perimeter of Gold Branch and added a challenging hill or two. We saw ducks, geese, turtles, and a heron - - and were mezmerized by a huge hawk that graced us with its beauty as it landed in a tree right beside the trail. It posed for several pictures before flying off to find its lunch.
The weather turned extremely warm for the first time this spring, hitting close to 80 degrees. We all felt the heat, and were happy to rest by the time we finished the 4.5 mile hike. ~ Joyce
