Vickery Creek is always a great place to hike. There were mountain laurels blooming on either side of the trail. During the course of the hike, two deer darted across the trails. We couldn't get a picture, though - - I guess our large group scared them away. We also spotted a (rat?) snake basking on the rocks down at the dam, and to think people take a dip in there  

This second hike promised to be at a quick pace, and so it was, despite a large group of 16 people. The only time we seemed confused was during picture-taking time, and there weren't many of those due to fewer stops. 

We walked almost 5 miles covering both sides of the dam for a welcome respite from the heat. The day was only going to get hotter! 

Michael, Sunae, Joyce and Divya seemed like they had unlimited reserves of energy! Two down, three to go!
