Green Meadows Nature Preserve is a small county park that is the only county park with a community garden.  Plots can be rented for organic gardening, with most of them tended by master gardeners.  This park is dedicated to restoring the Eastern Bluebird population to the area, and has been quite successful since Jim Bearden has been erecting bird houses and tending to the birds.  There are now over 40 nesting boxes along The Bluebird Trail - - the path of our hike this afternoon.  Guided tours are scheduled each week for those wanting to hike the trail and learn more about the Eastern Bluebird.  One can follow the Bluebird Trail Blog at http://bluebirdtrail.blogspot.com
