The day was sunny and bright - - but the recent rains gave birth to a beautiful array of mushrooms along the trails. We also saw a sinister warning sign posted just beyond the park boundaries!
John did as promised - - he led us over every single foot of open trail at the park! The trails were a bit muddy, and we had to sidestep or overstep lots of processed meals left by horses, but it was a most enjoyable morning for a long hike and the scenery was captivating.
We covered 10.5 miles, so we were ready for lunch at the pavilion after our 4 1/2 hour trek through the woods. ~ Joyce
