And then there were seven! We started with 13 but the threat of rain and other various tribulations of daily life whittled our group down to the lucky seven. It worked, too, because the rain did its thing before we showed up. The only rain was dripping from the trees as the VERY humid air condensed and fell. It was very peaceful and green! We saw some wildlife enjoying the post-rain evening including a Black Swallowtail butterfly, a box turtle, and a small doe.
We hit our mark of 5.2 miles with a hike time of 1 hour and 35 minutes. Way to go everyone! We also welcomed Dave to AOC and hope to see him on some other hikes in the near future.
Thanks for your endurance and participation in my final solo hike on my journey to becoming a full-fledged trip leader. LYMI!!
