Sat, Jul 12 2014 - Last Minute Stroll at Leone Hall Price Park (View Original Event Details)
|
What a great way to ease into the weekend! We enjoyed a leisurely pace and amiable conversation as we made our way around most of the trails in Leone Hall Price Park in Kennesaw. We even explored some of the unmarked trail spurs down to Allatoona Creek. Along the way, we spotted colorful butterflies, a woodpecker, and a large hawk. We sampled a few of the ripe blackberries amidst the multitude of not-quite-ready red ones.
We paused to admire the gigantic Meeting Tree and appreciated the new picnic tables built by boy scouts. Afterwards, several of us continued the cameraderie (and savored the air conditioning!) at Marietta Pizza Company.
This was the AOC's first foray into Leone Hall Price Park but it surely will not be our last. We look forward to returning when the planned bridges across the creek are completed, and we'll do a scavenger hunt to seek out the flora and fauna that the park offers. Thank you to Alan for being our human GPS, and a warm welcome to Nick, Ginger, Linda, and Coley on their 2nd and 3rd AOC events.
