Write Up:A perfect 10: Great group, fantastic weather, and a snake bonus. A delightful group of hikers got an early start up to the Hike Inn via the approach trail. About 2 miles into the trail we were confronted by the biggest Timber Rattlesnake any of us had ever seen. Rattling his saber furiously he refused to vacate the middle of the trail (invoking “stand your ground”) so after about 5 minutes of picture taking we bush wacked around him. We won’t mention that Sunae gave him such a wide berth that she actually got out of sight. After showering and changing we enjoyed a famous Hike Inn dinner. Then we were regaled by Bill’s slide presentation of his back packing trip to the Teton Crest Trail which was so good that we all put it on our bucket lists. We arose well before dawn to a sky that was so clear you could see every star. Soon the entire Inn was outside by the Star Base to watch an incredible sunrise (see pics). After a hearty breakfast we hiked up to Springer and back; all the while looking out for our rattler friend. After a brief rest at the Inn we hiked back to our cars to complete an awesome trip. Yea AOC!
