Great hike on a beautiful day. It was cold as we set off, the frosty air chilling our lungs. But we were glad to see the sun after many dreary, damp days, so our spirits were high as we ascended the Yucca Trail. We paused on the way up to peer into a deep mine shaft, imagining days past when it was an active mine. Climbing our way to the top along the serpentine path, we were rewarded with a spectacular view of the surrounding towns and mountain ranges. 

We lingered at the Indian Seats overlook until the chill began to overtake us again, then wound our way back down. We continued our descent alternating between lively conversation and amicable silence. We stopped at another mine before making our way back to the visitor's center. Scraping off our muddy boots, we parted ways until our next outdoor adventure.
