Our first 2015 Officers' Hike with Newcomers went beautifully. We kept a very moderate pace, stopping along the river for some photos and taking a brief break at the Visitor Center half way through the hike. When we returned to the parking lot we had time to spare, so some of the members added another 1 3/4 miles along the lollipop trail. The group was eerily quiet when we first gathered, but not long after we started moving, the sounds of friendly conversation - - almost a trademark with the AOC - - assured me that everyone was having a good time.  Our next Officers Hike with Newcomers is slated for May 2nd.  We hope all members with 5 or fewer hikes will join us!  ~  Joyce
